Create free account[Music] [Music] I'm very excited to be here it's my first time at Pocket Gamer first time Helsinki and I hear so many people speaking about html5 games and you're still here so you must be interested are you doing guys html5 games who does 1 2 2 3 yes who considers more yes some of us do so what I would like to do today and you heard a lot and some of the things I have prepared Phillip and Alena already shared which is great because it only shows that we're thinking in a similar way what I would like to do is to show our perspective and what we have done so
far in the past years and months I'm CEO and co-founder of gamee Gaming is a social gaming platform we make html5 games we make them playable in different social environments in apps and chat but I think it's worth also starting from a little bit beginning and then to show you the perspective how did we come what we are doing my background is in building brands first off behind and digital then I left first startups that note the green color it's somehow significant in my life and then I after successful exit of the first startup I went to work for a biggest startup that's called Google and I was leading you to launches and monetization in several European markets I was super excited about YouTube and I still am that Google's not my company so I went back to startups back to green color and here in my with gaming as I've mentioned I gave me as a social gaming
platform social means a lot to us we're aiming to connect people through play and why we do it and how we do it I need two things to to rewind back and show you in order to to help you understand so the third thing is thinking back in 2008 500 apps in the App Store it did change a lot of things about software how we consume it also become economics grew really which is bigger than Hollywood and it also has some parameters like Hollywood right the bigger became bigger the big became bigger discovery is a challenge and I was essentially over the content and Appstore nobody has been able to build a truly social experience across different types of content that is effects and then two years ago we saw YouTube moving to html5 which i think is a great inspiration if you take a look at what YouTube really did with content and here in this case content is video they made
the video fully shareable and embeddable across all environments and added great inspiration with YouTube is that they're able to connect people across series of content across multiple videos by working with channels and letting people subscribe to what they like and then watch those videos and those two things were really important when we were looking about two years ago two years ago when launching game II what gave me is is really connecting friends and gaming challenges the but no barriers to click to play because of html5 playable across social environments game II started as native app for iOS and Android where we streamed the html5 games so that you could use the friends you have connected to play against them over many many games as we launched them on the platform essentially competitive social playing against friends this is a little bit to to show you more of the user experience how it looks like to show is beyond the distribution you
may know html5 is really good to distribute your games but if you step further and look at how you can connect people in location-based battles how you can make it challenging for people to compare their scores this is how we're working with it and then of course this is where we are right now it's 8 million monthly active users 300 million game plays we have launched 70 games and here it's imported say we have focused on very casual games casual gaming experience even so-called snackable so that we could see it loads quickly it sits nicely in environment in short sessions that people play several times per day and they do not play one game they play several games at the same time so that they are trying to challenge their friends so this is what gave me is it's playable in native apps but also in in chat working with messaging apps and how we came to that we all saw this alein also had the slide
researches that chat apps are getting bigger even bigger than social networks that was just a fact we also saw that last year was the year of BOTS where one messaging app after another were opening up for for both apps and they were huge these are huge Giants and we saw big statements done by media right some claiming that facebook Messenger both story could be the most important launch since the app store and the developer response was frankly it was huge if you look at how fast developers have adopted after launch of app store twelve months later 50000 apps for messenger twelve months later hundred thousand BOTS that's massive well the question is will people use it right so if media say it's big the charts say it might be big then developers build BOTS do people use it and what do they expect from BOTS so
there was a very nice survey budgeted by Chad but summit and they asked people what do you expect bots to do for you and many people mentioned I expect what to do something like to help me with something to sort my travel things health advisor banker and they also mentioned entertainment so what does that mean right now in entertainment yes it's also a matter of discovery so if you open up chat app and you would like to see some entertainment you do not really have a specific need you do not search for something you're just like trying to discover so you actually need a bot store to help you get inspired which we're coming back to the first screen like we'll both stores become will they have the same issue or challenges App Store like when more and more boats are coming well maybe yes maybe no what I think is interesting is there is another way of getting this car especially for entertainment because thanks to the bots they can be called in or played from a group conversation from
my chats so if I'm opening up a chat conversation with you I can call in game about and we can play a game without you having to do anything so this is how the content can spread without the person having to really install anything and it's essentially social this is how we work with the bot platforms kik telegram also messenger ever every time we launch a game one gave me it also launches important and interrupts how do you get people back in the game some some of the speakers before me they also mentioned there is a way and it's really powerful is that people enable messaging apps to push notify them but it has been used a lot by almost any bot developer it has been used and it's becoming really really offensive it's the same as with push notifications so people don't tend to mute it there is a real power because people use their messaging app so many times in a day and
there is still this light showing you that there is something new in the conversation which all of us have the temptation to open but as with push notifications there is a lot of optimization around personalization timing it well and everything you know from from push notifications as well then another a player made an interesting move and it was apple with iMessage so when I mentioned that every time we launched a game on gaming we push it to all those integrations we have we also make it playable in iMessage so far to be open that like the results were kind of disappointing we also think it's due to the high barrier of people having to add the iMessage app in the conversation which is just too complicated for people to do so we hope to work more closely with with Apple and with other guys to push this and we'll see what the next steps of Apple are I think this is a really exciting
opportunity and a rich platform but as I said the barrier at this moment is just to hide [Music] and then I also was mentioned several times today Facebook made the move right last year in November they were one of the launch partners of instant games we have two games launched there it was it still is a great learning journey to really discover what type of games work in different environments some initial thoughts was it has to be really quick and snackable so people when they're in chat they are able to consume it and go do something else then second thought was it cannot be that consumable it it can be average a deep experience so we make people come back it might actually be something in the middle what is worth trying is exploring both what I would like to maybe point out is the most exciting thing about instant gaming so far is the connection of the game and the bots because when we mentioned when
we spoke about bringing people back to the game and how limited the notifications are or how annoying they may be the communication of the pod makes it much smarter much more personalized and it even relevant for a group so this is probably the most exciting thing about instant gaming it's the connection of bots and hand game so what's what's in it for you if you already have an html5 game you should go and test all the platforms and see what what it does for you if you want to test it with us and launch it what gaming feel free to do so if you do not have an html5 game yet there is maybe an inspiration for you I'm not saying it's the only way how to do it but we are working with one studio that focuses on native game we're making it a smaller playable trailer that we're launching on gaming network and seeing how people who are interested going download the full game where it monetize is way better it might be one of the ways it's not the only way how do you
how to use messenger gaming but we think it's it's exciting to explore for us what we're focusing on next so apart from making those integrations across platform even better so every time you launch a game it streamlines to chat platforms and it's beautiful and social we're working on deeper social connecting inside games like replays and seeing your friends directly in those games so that this social layer and the integration is ready for any game that wants to connect and launch on gaming so this is what we're on right now and I'm here my co-founders there if you want to spend some time and chat with us we would be happy to hear from you thank you very much Xena thank you I think we probably have time for a couple of questions if there are any in the audience who'd like to to ask questions here we go there's one there sorry I need to shield my eyes
from the light you mentioned two eight eight million monthly audience is it for up or for boats or for combined it's cross-platform okay [Music] [Music]
The social gaming platform Gamee leverages HTML5 technology to integrate casual, snackable gaming experiences directly into messaging apps and social platforms. By focusing on frictionless, shareable content, the company aims to solve the discovery challenges inherent in traditional app stores. The core thesis posits that by embedding games within chat environments—where users already spend significant time—developers can foster deeper social engagement and higher retention through competitive, friend-based challenges.
Data from the platform indicates a reach of 8 million monthly active users and 300 million monthly gameplays across 70 titles. The company’s methodology involves deploying HTML5 games that function across native apps, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, and Kik. These games are designed for short, frequent sessions, allowing users to play multiple titles in quick succession. A key finding is that the most effective engagement strategy involves pairing games with bot technology, which enables personalized, group-relevant notifications that drive users back to the platform more effectively than traditional push notifications.
The industry landscape is currently defined by the rapid rise of chat apps as primary social hubs and the subsequent emergence of bot stores. While initial developer adoption of bot platforms has been massive, user experience remains a hurdle, particularly regarding the friction of installing apps within messaging environments. The platform highlights that while some integrations, such as iMessage, currently face high barriers to entry, the synergy between instant gaming and bot-driven communication represents a significant opportunity for future growth. Developers are encouraged to utilize HTML5 to test content across these platforms or to use smaller, playable trailers to drive traffic to more complex, monetized native applications.
