The primary objective of this project is to demonstrate the practical application of free-to-play mobile game design through a rigorous, iterative development process. By attempting to compete with established industry leaders in the idle game genre, the initiative seeks to provide a transparent look at the challenges of building a game from scratch. The core thesis emphasizes that successful game design requires the ability to develop a cohesive vision, create mechanics that function in harmony with that vision, and maintain the flexibility to refine concepts as the project crystallizes.
The development methodology centers on a rapid, one-week production cycle designed to highlight the realities of mobile game creation. This approach serves as a case study for aspiring designers, focusing on the transition from initial uncertainty to a finalized, polished product. By documenting the specific exercises and secret methods employed during this sprint, the project aims to offer actionable insights into the creative and technical workflows necessary to navigate the competitive mobile landscape.
Beyond the technical aspects of game development, the project underscores the importance of an analytical and resilient attitude toward design. By leveraging broad industry access and a commitment to high-quality content, the work aims to demystify the complexities of the free-to-play market. The ultimate goal is to provide a comprehensive educational resource that illustrates how small-scale development efforts can effectively challenge top-tier gaming companies through strategic design choices and disciplined execution.
