The company anticipates a seventh consecutive year of record-high profits and revenue.
Capcom has revised its financial outlook for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, projecting a seventh consecutive year of record-high profits and revenue. This upward adjustment reflects the company's sustained growth trajectory within the global digital contents segment, driven by both new releases and a robust back catalog.
The updated forecast anticipates annual net sales of ¥152.4 billion ($979 million), an 8.9% increase over previous estimates, representing a 21% year-over-year growth. Operating profit is now expected to reach ¥57 billion ($366 million), a 1.8% increase from earlier projections and a 12% rise overall. Additionally, net income is forecasted at ¥43.3 billion ($278 million), marking an 8.3% improvement over the prior outlook.
These positive results are primarily attributed to the strong market performance of the Digital Contents division. Specifically, the launch of Dragon’s Dogma II in the fourth quarter served as a significant catalyst, achieving 2.5 million units sold within its first 11 days. Furthermore, the company benefited from the continued success of Street Fighter 6, which surpassed 3 million units sold, alongside consistent revenue contributions from evergreen franchises such as Resident Evil and Monster Hunter. By leveraging a combination of high-profile new titles and long-term catalog monetization, the publisher has successfully exceeded its internal performance targets for the fiscal period.
