Fernando Machado is stepping down from his role as CMO at Activision Blizzard. His departure is effective in April 2023.
Fernando Machado, the Chief Marketing Officer of Activision Blizzard, announced his departure from the gaming company effective April 2023. He is transitioning to a new role as the Chief Marketing Officer for NotCo, a plant-based food manufacturer known for products such as NotMilk, NotBurger, and NotChicken.
Machado concludes a two-year tenure at Activision Blizzard. His professional background, which likely influenced his recruitment for the gaming sector, includes extensive experience in consumer goods and retail marketing. Prior to his time in the gaming industry, he spent over 18 years at Unilever, nearly six years at Burger King, and seven years at Restaurant Brands International.
NotCo currently maintains a significant retail footprint in the United States, with its products distributed across approximately 10,000 retail locations. Key retail partners include major chains such as Whole Foods Market, Kroger, Sprouts, and Stop & Shop, as well as online availability through Amazon. This move highlights a shift for the executive from the interactive entertainment sector back into the consumer packaged goods industry.
