Top 30 Chinese Mobile Games in Overseas Markets: April 2018

The April 2018 analysis of Chinese mobile games in overseas markets identifies the top 30 titles by revenue and download volume across the Apple App Store and Google Play. The primary objective is to track the international performance of Chinese-developed games, highlighting shifts in market dominance and the impact of specific regional strategies. The data is derived from the Sensor Tower Store Intelligence platform, providing a comprehensive look at global consumer spending and installation trends outside of mainland China.

In terms of revenue, the top six positions remained stable compared to March, with titles such as Lords Mobile, Clash of Kings, Guns of Glory, and Mobile Legends maintaining their lead. A significant development was the rapid ascent of the strategy game Three Kingdoms M, which climbed from 25th place in March to 7th in April, driven primarily by strong monetization within the South Korean market. Additionally, the older title Youth Three Kingdoms entered the top 30 list for the first time, bolstered by a surge in revenue from the United States.

Regarding download volume, PUBG Mobile continued to lead the rankings for the second consecutive month. Its global reach was significant, with the United States accounting for 21% of its downloads, followed by Brazil, India, Indonesia, and Thailand. On a global scale, PUBG Mobile secured the second-highest download count among all mobile games outside of China. Conversely, other battle royale titles, such as Rules of Survival and Knives Out, experienced a decline in download rankings, while casual and action-oriented titles from publishers like Cheetah Mobile and Doodle Mobile maintained a consistent presence in the top 30.
