Create free accounthello and welcome to pocket game. busy's YouTube channel today we are looking at EA Mobile's Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes of which I'm a big fan and kind of something we're going to look at today is um just about the characters really so I wouldn't say I'm a massive Star Wars fan um haven't even seen all the films actually but um the really interesting thing is um using this license um the game which is kind of you it's not doing anything that um Innovative in in and of itself that other games haven't done I think it balances what it does very well but the thing that really kind of draws you on even as I say if you're not a big Star Wars fan I think it's the characters so there's a few things look at the characters so here we go the these are the characters that I've um kind of unlocked I've been playing it a lot um or say a lot I've been playing it I've guess been playing it daily for a long time i' not been playing it um kind of heavily on a daily basis but um so we
can see here I've got these kind of characters so the game has Light Side characters and Dark Side characters and you build um you have kind of um Mission structures where you kind of just use Light Side characters just use Dark Side characters in some of the other kind of the PVP stuff you can mix up um kind of sets of characters for your squad and um you kind of as in an RPG you kind of level up the characters so you can see some of them are four star I've got two four-star characters some of them are three star um some of them are just two star actually um and at the bottom of under each character it kind of has a a number so if we look at where is he Clone Wars chewbaca I've got 23 out of 65 so to get CH chewbecca to a level five character I've got to collect another 42 um shards is what they call them um so we can go down here we can see you know what's going on so with some of them I'm got long way to go some of them um most of them quite a long way to go some of them not so much um
um see some of these green crosses that's the equipment there's an equipment um level up system as well um but here what do we see here oh so these are the kind of characters I haven't unlocked cuz they got a lock next to them so Darth Vader still got 19 to go before I get Darth Darth cidus another 30 to go on him but hey what's this Stormtrooper Han he wants to be activated so let's go and activate a card so basically I've collected I've actually collected 53 I need 50 to to unlock him so um I can summon him which is a bit of a kind of odd thing but that's what we have in C battling games that we really summon stuff that's um using the the the um the words of that genre so we have pay a tiny bit of money so I've got a million of these credits it cost me 100 to do that but don't really know why they do that but there we go we we'll activate him off he goes boom so I think most people would say Star Wars hand is probably one of the more interesting characters um in Star Wars um there we go he's level three already so so that's good now it's
interesting now to see you get an idea about how the game works so it says says his power so every car card has a power he's a light side character obviously versatile tank tanks are useful can surprise enemies with sudden ter meter changes and offensive boost so that's going into bit how the characters interact within a squad so turn meter is basically you have a kind of realtime turn meter to decide whose turn of of the five characters of or five each side 10 characters in the battle who who gets to kind of go first it's turn based but you know you have to choose whose turn it is an offensive boost so that means he's got some interesting attributes he's a human character obviously tank and the rebel so all that kind of stuff important when you start to put squads together um on the left hand side he has attack and abilities so he has a a shot physical damage um so we can see again it's going into um has a 25% chance to turn a 20% turn to gain 20% of his turn meter um so he could he could he can kind of speed up um he can draw fire so this is a specific tank attribute so tanks can take a lot of damage so he can
if he taunts he gets all the damage for two turns and while he does that the other his other allies in the squad will gain speed there's other ones he can become a leader he's a leader character so if he's a leader every all the all the kind of characters in the squad get those but these at the moment unlocked because he's not he's not um you see down here he's a level one character so he hasn't got any XP so confirm that so there we go unlocked him um so I can't actually train him at the moment because I have to collect training training droids I haven't got any so let's go and do that I can do that in another way of kind of showing actually quite a nice um way of one element of the game so doesn't really matter what battles I go into but for anything I've unlocked at three stars um I got these Sim so I actually got five got vast amounts of them i' got 525 which is a bit ridiculous if I was a proper player I wouldn't have any of these I would have used them all up but I can Sim these these ones I've completed at three stars I can just Sim them basically means I just I've completed them already so there's no fun me completing them but I can just get the rewards so I can just go through let's do some of these um I'm limited if
you look at the top of the screen by energy so um any any battle I do costs on the normal not the hard level cost me six um so and I um so every time I do that I'm using up six the moment I've got 128 left so i' got quite a lot um so maybe let's do um some hard ones because I'll get better rewards for that you can see I'm not so Advanced on the hard ones obviously they're harder um but they're using more energy so they're using 12 energy um so it's double but I'm getting different rewards and basically all I want in the moment is I want to get some training droids so I can start to to level up my man Stormtrooper Han okay so that'll be enough for the time being just doing a demo so I've done that let's go into there where is he where is he right down the bottom because he's rubbish there he is so I'll train him so I collected some of these These are the way you level up up you collect these Droids and you can
assign them to different um you what you can split them up between characters um so this is going to he's started off as level one this is going to upgrade him to level 19 there we go only one big F swoop which is level 19 is not very good so it's not going to get me very it's not be very useful yet um but now I me I can start equipping stuff so you can see here equip equip equip equip equip so this is all materials and stuff that they're quite a Lo level in the game so I've got loads of these um so I'm going to upgrade that so his gear has now gone from um level one to level two you can still see I've got these things to equip so you can see when you which is quite an important thing in a game you don't want to unlock a cool character like he is and then have to spend like weeks um you know grinding out for him to to get to any useful level I mean you do have to he's not going to be particularly useful for me at the moment um he's got so I could he's we've got this material we've got this um Power Cell thing it's got to be level 20 so before he can use
it um but equally because we've leveled up a lot we can now level up his basic some of his Basics kind of stuff that he does so there we go so um there's Han um so maybe we should useing for something really should we should we go and do a quick battle let's let's not let's not embarrass ourselves so let's do um let's choose this random one here let's go and actually do a battle and just see what he looks like because this is other thing is um it's F to have a nice character but what does he actually do in the battle does he look cool in the battle cuz you know a lot of the time you're doing the battles is what you're doing really at least you're doing that one um you you're not simming them but to be a to sim them you have to beat the battles in the first place so let's just choose this this is um um and let's take um I'll take chewy out cuz he's normally the tank I I don't really play with tanks so I've got this kind of um set up which is more stealthy but I'll just stick him in there um or let's actually Let's do let's stick him in let's stick him in as this is a bit of a stupid thing you would do this normally let's
stick him in as the leader um let's put him as well so there we go off we go so this just quickly show how the how the game works um and so I actually yeah so it's um actually six as side not five as side isn't it so there we go so um these are my moves um down the bottom I just let the game take over really at the moment um actually no until we get to Han where's H going have go he's going to go next so he he took something there took some damage this guy's going to do a big attack he's big attack so storm TR is done there is it time for Han so Han Now can do two things he can do this on the far right hand side can do this taor there's no point in the moment him torting this other guy you would do that to take the fire if you had particular you had wounded members or or just so so if you having like a big offensive players on the other side he's just going to shoot his gun boom boom so not that's not very impressive is it but the taunt one we'll do that in the next in the next battle um so
it's going to Auto um not going to take very long maybe you're not chance chance to do it um because uh my guys are so much more powerful than they would otherwise be um so let's quickly have a look oh there's a there's a few more General ve is there there we go he's done his taunt he's done his taunt so so we can see so there we go so that's um that's unlocking Stormtrooper H um he's going to get attacked there's only one left probably won't be he's going to get attacked now yeah so he got attack there so you can see his attribute there we go all all killed Victory amazing um so that's unlocking Stormtrooper Stormtrooper Han um that's stalls Galaxy of Heroes um very good game if you haven't downloaded yet I would thoroughly recommend it um don't forget to subscribe uh to our YouTube channel we do lots of this announces to free toplay games um so yeah uh if you if you subscribe you won't miss a thing thanks for watching see you soon
Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, a mobile role-playing game developed by EA, utilizes a character-collection framework to engage players through strategic squad building and turn-based combat. The game categorizes characters into Light Side and Dark Side factions, requiring players to manage resources, unlock characters via shards, and progress through mission structures. The core gameplay loop involves leveling up characters, upgrading gear, and optimizing squad compositions to succeed in both player-versus-environment missions and player-versus-player arenas.
The character progression system relies on several key mechanics: collecting shards to activate new units, utilizing training droids to increase character levels, and equipping materials to enhance gear tiers. A notable feature is the simulation (Sim) system, which allows players to bypass previously completed battles to efficiently farm resources like training droids, provided they have sufficient energy. Combat mechanics emphasize tactical decision-making, where character attributes—such as tanking, offensive boosts, and turn meter manipulation—determine the flow of battle. Tanks, for instance, play a critical role by utilizing taunt abilities to absorb damage, thereby protecting more vulnerable allies.
The game’s design balances accessibility with depth, appealing to both casual players and those interested in strategic team management. By integrating iconic Star Wars characters with standard RPG progression systems, the title maintains player retention through consistent character development and the pursuit of high-tier units. The experience highlights the importance of synergy within squads, where leader abilities and specific character roles are essential for overcoming more difficult content. Overall, the game serves as a representative example of the mobile hero-collector genre, focusing on long-term progression and the strategic application of character-specific abilities.
