The U.S. was the primary revenue driver.
The global mobile gaming market experienced significant growth in March 2025, with total consumer spending reaching approximately $6.79 billion, a 5.6% increase over the previous month. Total worldwide downloads also saw a 15% rise, reaching 4.3 billion. This analysis, based on Sensor Tower’s App Performance Insights, covers global market trends across the iOS App Store and Google Play, excluding third-party Android marketplaces.
Revenue leadership was dominated by Whiteout Survival, which secured the top spot following its second-anniversary celebration and strategic alliance-focused updates. Royal Match and Last War: Survival Game followed in the second and third positions, respectively. The United States remained the primary revenue driver, accounting for 31.9% of global spending, followed by China (iOS) and Japan. Notable growth was observed in titles like PUBG MOBILE, which surged due to anniversary events, and the debut of the idle RPG Hero Without Flash in the Chinese market.
In the downloads category, Block Blast! maintained its position as the most downloaded game globally, having accumulated 455 million lifetime downloads since its 2022 launch. Free Fire and ROBLOX rounded out the top three. India emerged as the leading market for downloads, contributing 17.7% of the global total. Emerging titles such as the simulator I Am Cat and the riddle-based Brainy Prankster demonstrated the continued effectiveness of viral social media marketing and accessible, short-session gameplay mechanics in capturing new audiences.
Overall, the data underscores that sustained market success is increasingly driven by event-based live operations, the utilization of established intellectual property, and targeted regional engagement strategies. These factors remain critical for both maintaining high-revenue player bases and driving large-scale user acquisition in the competitive mobile landscape.
