The US accounted for 32% of total global spending, followed by China (iOS) and Japan.
The mobile gaming industry concluded 2025 with a strong performance, characterized by a significant reliance on seasonal live operations and intellectual property-driven engagement to bolster both revenue and download metrics. Global consumer spending reached $6.9 billion in December, representing a 3.5% month-over-month increase, while total downloads climbed 3.7% to 3.75 billion. The United States remained the primary market for revenue, contributing 32% of the global total, while India led in download volume with a 15.7% share.
Revenue rankings were dominated by titles that successfully leveraged holiday-themed events, exclusive content, and competitive mechanics. Last War: Survival maintained its position as the top-grossing title, supported by a strategic cycle of seasonal live ops. Other high-performing games, such as Whiteout Survival, Royal Match, and MONOPOLY GO!, utilized similar tactics, including winter-themed events and high-profile brand collaborations, to sustain player spending. Additionally, titles like Love and Deepspace and Teamfight Tactics saw substantial revenue spikes following major content updates and anniversary celebrations.
Download growth was driven by a combination of accessible casual experiences and the successful mobile adaptation of established console intellectual property. Block Blast! secured the top spot for global downloads, while Roblox maintained strong engagement through creator-led events. Notably, the mobile debut of Red Dead Redemption via Netflix’s subscription model demonstrated the efficacy of leveraging well-known console franchises to drive rapid adoption. The data, which excludes third-party Android markets, highlights a broader industry trend where publishers prioritize frequent content updates, social engagement, and localized events to maximize retention and monetization in a competitive global landscape.
