The Path: Parth Naidu and the Birth of SIDO

Parth Naidu, formerly the head coach of TSM, transitioned from professional team management in 2021 to establish SIDO, a research-oriented firm focused on the scientific study of competitive gaming performance. Operating as a hybrid entity, the organization leverages consulting partnerships with major industry stakeholders, such as Riot Games, and academic institutions to fund open-source research. This work centers on the intersection of player development, team dynamics, and cognitive performance, with strategic backing provided by the ownership group of the esports organization DarkZero.

The core objective of SIDO is to modernize the evaluation of professional esports talent by moving beyond superficial metrics like damage dealt or gold earned. By integrating granular practice data with wearable health technology, the firm is developing objective performance indicators designed to provide a more holistic view of player capability. These analytical models are intended to assist professional organizations in making data-driven decisions regarding roster construction and long-term player development.

While currently focused on establishing foundational methodologies, the firm intends to scale these analytical frameworks across a diverse range of competitive genres, including tactical shooters and strategy titles. By bridging the gap between traditional sports science and the digital landscape of esports, the initiative seeks to professionalize training regimens and performance tracking. This research-led approach represents a significant shift toward evidence-based management within the competitive gaming industry, aiming to standardize how teams identify and nurture elite talent over the coming years.
