South African developer Pineapple on Pizza Studios has announced its latest project, Atonement of Adam, a third-person action shooter that reimagines Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein in an alternate-history setting. Set in an early 2000s London under the control of an undead army created by Professor Victor Frankenstein, the game follows the monster, Adam, as he seeks vengeance and redemption.
The project is currently in the early stages of development and is being built using Unreal Engine 5 for PC, with integrated controller support to facilitate potential future console releases. The studio has secured a spot in the Xbox Game Camp 2026, highlighting the project's ambition. While specific gameplay details remain limited, the studio intends to provide a more comprehensive look at the title following its participation in Gamescom and XDS 2026 in September.
The announcement serves primarily as a proof of existence for the studio’s most ambitious title to date. Pineapple on Pizza Studios expects to release a full playable demo by mid-2027. Further updates regarding the development team and upcoming playtesting opportunities are expected to be shared in the coming weeks.
