The mobile version of Roblox has reached a significant financial milestone, surpassing $7 billion in cumulative player spending. This figure, derived from data provided by the analytics firm AppMagic, accounts for in-app purchase revenue adjusted to include platform fees and taxes. While the platform’s direct in-app purchase revenue is approximately $4.2 billion, the broader spending metric highlights the platform's sustained dominance in the global mobile gaming market.
Geographically, the United States serves as the primary driver of this revenue, contributing 58% of the total, followed by the United Kingdom, Canada, South Korea, and Australia. In terms of user acquisition, the platform is nearing 1 billion global downloads, with the United States again leading in installs at 20%, followed by Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, and Russia. Despite these high volume figures, the global revenue per download (RpD) averages $4.25, with Hong Kong, Singapore, and several European nations exhibiting significantly higher per-user spending averages.
As of late 2023, Roblox maintains its position as the top free-to-play mobile game globally by download volume, with over 190 million installs year-to-date. It also ranks as the fifth highest-grossing mobile title for the year, trailing major competitors such as Honor of Kings, PUBG Mobile, Genshin Impact, and Candy Crush Saga. These findings reflect only mobile-specific in-app spending and do not encompass additional revenue streams like advertising, licensing, or earnings from PC and console versions, which contribute to the platform's total financial performance.
