Does this mean that he has literally the access to playable build and can he leak the PC build [music] at any moment? Which would be now completely different story.
Two and a half gamers exclusive.
Breaking news.
Literally [music] breaking.
Hello, hello. This is Two and a Half Gamers and we are back again at the news as it's Friday. Let's get to it. Lots of interesting stuff happening. So, in first news, Alibaba will sell its Lingxi Games in $2 billion deal and the sale is pretty much uh ongoing dynamic of bigger companies getting rid of their gaming divisions. As Alibaba reviews its non-core assets and prioritizes, drum roll, AI and cloud. As always, the buyer is True
Star, which has reached formal agreement following several rounds of talks. Yeah, da da da da da. For those who don't know, company Lingxi Games is mainly, what was it? Mainly responsible for few major games with like Three Kingdoms, if I understand correctly, and some Chinese basically specific games. Yeah, Three Kingdoms Strategy Edition multiplayer strategy game developed with Koei Tecmo Holdings. Yeah, so I guess big Chinese studio changing hands. Let's see. Global mobile IP revenue reached 45.3% year-on-year as per new Sensor Tower report, which also shows downloads have reached 36.8 billion. So, yeah, the movement is kind of the same. Downloads fell 12% year-over-year while non-gaming downloads grew 6%, so apps are crashing us as always. Doom and gloom, but no worries. It's just again, all of these things are not
capturing the 2C trends and other pretty much things that are changing the dynamic here. Let's continue. 50% of game developers cite job insecurity as AI productivity grows. 57% of game developers perceive AI has not speed up their workflow at all. There was a new report by Perforce and yeah, some interesting AI stuff pretty much where lots of people like nearly 50% raised ethical concerns. 36% point to reduce creativity. Yeah, for sure reduce creative like just look at all those Chinese creators and then don't talk about reduced creativity. So, let's see. Uh AI is just marching on and some people needs to wake [music] up. US Senate to investigate Roblox over child safety concern. I was telling this from last [music] two years that this will happen and this won't be very good for Roblox. Roblox has been ordered to preserve records related to child safety and exploitation. Senators Hawley and Dick Durbin have raised concerns about explicit content, alleged
child abuse linked to the platform. Roblox have reported 65K suspected child sexual exploitation instances in 2025, which is double than the previous year number. So, yeah. I've been saying this for I don't know how much time. Roblox is one giant scandal away from
[music]
dropping like a rock, which this could be it, but let's see because again, handling that big of a child player base isn't really easy thing to do and I think they still have a lot of place to go and are not really actively doing it. So, let's see. Australia secures court enforceable Roblox child safety undertaking. Roblox has three months to introduce additional child safety features measures. So, yeah, we continue. So, eSafety found adults could still contact your children without parental consent. The company must undergo independent audit of its safety system. So, this [ __ ] keeps on piling up and as I said, if Roblox doesn't wake up, it will drop like a rock. Apple to change app tracking consent rules in EU.
Germany's FCO found Apple's ATT framework potentially gave its own apps more favorable consent prompts. Yeah, no [ __ ] Uh Apple has 4 months to implement the changes after the decision is served. Let's see how this happens. Everybody knows that there will be appeals, appeals, appeals and all of these other law things that I don't really want to talk about. Apple will also cut this EU alternative App Store fees to 5%, which Epic has said that the new fees are junk fees. It says that they failed to deliver the competition required by the DMA, the European pretty much law that enforces you to do these things. But again, same thing like lawyers will get more and more money as these guys battle it out in courts and it will be never-ending. So, let's see what happens there. For those that want to know, we have the latest, of course, with Chip from Fast Spring on this week explaining the latest trends on the idea. Then we have MTG's Play and division is all in on AI cross-development. Those
who don't know, Play amp is this new mid-core division. It's like pretty much tooks all the companies like Plarium, InnoGames, and so on and so forth. Uh that's was a little bit of a restructure or maybe just rebranding or renaming it MTG. So, that's there. And then we have Makers Fund raises 250 million for ground to support its interactive entertainment startups. Latest fund from venture capital firm brings its total assets under management to 1.5 billion. Congrats. And yes, sending regards to Michael and all the guys out there. They're doing great job. I remember that these guys were funded in 2016 and they already exited their early investment in Dream Games. Or they still have it, I think. I think they still have it or don't have it. Don't remember. But yeah, they they were there with Dream Games, of course. And they raised 500 million in 2022 before, [music] so they just keep on going. And they are now expanding, of course, not only into games, but leading and interactive
entertainment creators, so consumer apps entertainment creation creation platforms, and of course, AI, so pretty much where the growth is. And now, I would say we have the story of the week because lo and behold, this is really really the latest of the latest. There's been these Rockstar leaks of GTA 6. And like videos were being posted online, which isn't that surprising coming this is the biggest you know, biggest entertainment product of the century pretty much. And everybody is looking forward to it, and they cannot wait for November 19. Next week, there will be this Netflix teaser something something, so expectations are sky high. But this is now very very curious because, you know, it's all fun and games when some footage gets leaked and so on and so forth, but it seems that the leaker called John Leak or Cyber Leak, the group, now has the build of the game. Because
in the latest video, if you search it online, I won't show it, but I have seen it, he literally writes the word leak into the wall by shooting it with bullets. So, does this mean that he has literally the access to playable build? Can he leak the PC build at any moment? Which would be now completely different story. So, let's see how this one goes on, and it seems that the group, like this kind of Cyber Leak group, has also sent its demands to Rockstar. The group has demanded that Rockstar consider an all digital strategy with GTA 6, including digital pre-orders, and no physical disks, and remove monetize single player content. [music] It's also threatened other publisher with leaks stating if Cyber Leaker reach Rockstar one is safe. So, yeah, this is a pretty big sweet drama. Can't wait how this will end up because yeah, if he leaks the PC build, it's going to be a history like historical because you're going to
PC players going to be able to play PC PC version of GTA before console player first time in the year first time in history. Yeah, let's see how this actually goes. Of course, keep in mind that the footage could be fake, of course, because it could be done by AI or something. I mean, that the proof that he has the build where he shoots into the wall. I'm really really want to see how this story can develop some will be watching it closely. Anyway, that was the news. Hope you had a nice week wishing a nice weekend. Join the Slack. Let us know if you miss something big or if you want to or if you like the segment or don't like it and see you next time. Ciao.

The gaming industry is currently navigating a period of significant structural shifts, characterized by corporate divestments, heightened regulatory scrutiny, and the disruptive potential of artificial intelligence. Major conglomerates, such as Alibaba, are offloading gaming assets like Lingxi Games in multi-billion dollar deals to pivot toward cloud and AI infrastructure. Simultaneously, venture capital remains active, evidenced by Makers Fund raising $250 million to support interactive entertainment startups, bringing their total assets under management to $1.5 billion. This investment strategy increasingly targets consumer apps and AI-driven creation platforms alongside traditional gaming.
Market data reveals a complex landscape for mobile gaming. While global mobile IP revenue grew by 45.3% year-over-year, total downloads declined by 12%, contrasting with a 6% growth in non-gaming app downloads. Within the development sector, AI adoption remains contentious; while 50% of developers report concerns regarding job security, 57% indicate that AI has not yet improved their actual workflow efficiency. Furthermore, nearly half of the workforce expresses ethical concerns, and over a third fear that reliance on these tools diminishes creative output.
Regulatory and safety challenges are intensifying, particularly for platforms with large youth demographics. Roblox is facing formal investigations from the U.S. Senate and Australian authorities regarding child safety, with the platform reporting 65,000 suspected instances of child sexual exploitation in 2025. These entities are mandating independent audits and stricter safety protocols. Meanwhile, in the European Union, Apple is under pressure to adjust its App Tracking Transparency framework and alternative app store fee structures to comply with the Digital Markets Act.
Finally, the industry is grappling with high-stakes security threats, most notably regarding the potential leak of a playable PC build of Grand Theft Auto 6. A group known as Cyber Leak has issued demands to Rockstar Games, threatening to release the build if their conditions—which include removing single-player monetization and shifting to an all-digital release strategy—are not met. This situation represents a critical inflection point, as a potential leak could fundamentally alter the release trajectory of one of the industry's most anticipated products.
