The Nordic Game Conference 2025, held from May 20 to 23 in Malmö, Sweden, served as a significant hub for the European gaming industry. The event attracted over 2,500 participants who engaged with more than 150 program sessions across a 3,800-square-meter venue. The conference functioned as a primary networking and exhibition platform, culminating in the Nordic Game Awards, which recognized top regional titles, and a dedicated workshop day for professional development.
Gamecity Hamburg maintained a prominent presence at the event, leading a delegation of over 20 members. This group included teams from the 2024 Games Lift Incubator and four indie studios selected through the Road to Nordic program. These developers utilized a shared booth, organized in partnership with medianet berlinbrandenburg, to showcase projects such as Card Buster, Light of Atlantis, NeverLight, and REPLICORE. Beyond the exhibition floor, the delegation participated in structured meetings with publishers and engaged with industry initiatives, including a panel hosted by WINGS to discuss publisher decision-making processes.
The conference provided a strategic environment for international collaboration, with proximity to major industry players like Sharkmob and Raw Fury facilitating additional networking opportunities in Malmö’s historic center. By integrating incubator teams and independent developers into this international setting, the initiative aimed to foster professional growth and facilitate essential connections within the Northern European games market.
