These new partnerships aim to strengthen the company's revenue-generating operations across its North American and European esports franchises.
OverActive Media, the parent company of Toronto Ultra, Toronto Defiant, and MAD Lions, has expanded its commercial portfolio through new sponsorship agreements with AMD and LG UltraGear. Simultaneously, the organization has secured renewals for its existing partnerships with SCUF Gaming and Nielsen Sports. While the specific financial terms of these agreements remain undisclosed, the move signals a continued effort to strengthen the company’s revenue-generating operations across its North American and European esports franchises.
The new partnerships involve specific activations across OverActive Media’s competitive assets. AMD will collaborate with the Toronto Ultra and Toronto Defiant on content and activation, including serving as the presenting sponsor for the Toronto Ultra Challengers Tournament. LG UltraGear has been designated as the presenting partner for the Call of Duty League Major IV tournament and qualifiers. Additionally, the renewal with SCUF Gaming maintains its status as the official controller and accessory partner for Toronto Ultra, while the extension with Nielsen Sports now incorporates the European-based MAD Lions into the scope of sponsorship valuation and media data services.
These developments follow a fiscal year in which OverActive Media’s business operations segment—encompassing sponsorships, merchandising, and live event sales—achieved 23% year-over-year revenue growth, reaching $5.98 million in 2022. Despite this growth in the business operations sector, the company reported an overall net loss for the 2022 fiscal year. These strategic partnership updates reflect an ongoing focus on leveraging high-profile brand collaborations to bolster the company’s commercial standing within the competitive gaming industry.
