MPL MENA Partners With Saudi Esports Federation

MOONTON Games has entered into a strategic partnership with the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) for the Season 5 Playoffs of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Middle East and North Africa (MPL MENA). This collaboration aims to bolster the league’s operational capacity and regional presence, with the SEF committing to cover the full cost of travel visas for participating players. While the specific financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the partnership underscores a broader effort to integrate the league into the growing Saudi esports ecosystem.

The Season 5 Playoffs are scheduled to take place as an offline LAN event at VOV Gaming in Riyadh from June 13 to 15, 2024. The competition will feature the top six teams from the region competing for a $100,000 USD prize pool. The tournament utilizes a double-elimination format, with matches ranging from best-of-three to a best-of-seven grand final. This event serves as a critical milestone for the league, which has recently undergone significant structural changes to enhance its status and secure two direct qualification slots for the Mid Season Cup 2024, a key component of the government-backed Esports World Cup.

This partnership reflects the ongoing expansion of competitive gaming in the Middle East, supported by the Saudi Arabian government’s investment in large-scale, multi-title esports initiatives. By aligning with the SEF, MOONTON Games strengthens its position within the region, leveraging local infrastructure and administrative support to facilitate high-level professional play. The event will be open to the public, featuring various fan engagement activities and live Arabic-language broadcasts to further promote the league's growth.
