Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Coming to Esports World Cup

MOONTON Games has announced that its flagship title, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, will be featured at the inaugural Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This move marks a significant expansion for the game’s competitive circuit, as both the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup and the MLBB Women’s Invitational will be held outside of Southeast Asia for the first time. The events are scheduled to take place from July 1 to July 14, 2024.

The competition will draw participants from 14 international regions and over 35 countries, competing for a total prize pool exceeding $3 million USD. The tournament structure includes a diverse range of regional qualifiers, including leagues from Indonesia, the Philippines, the Middle East and North Africa, and various other international territories, alongside a wild card format. The MLBB Women’s Invitational will also see an expanded scope, featuring a $500,000 prize pool and representation from 12 regions, including North America, Brazil, and China.

This integration into the Esports World Cup aligns with the broader strategic goals of the event, which is funded by the Saudi Arabian government’s Public Investment Fund. The inclusion of the title follows high-level discussions between MOONTON Games leadership and Saudi officials regarding the development of the Esports World Cup Foundation. By hosting these major mobile esports events in Riyadh, the organizers aim to elevate the global profile of mobile gaming within the professional competitive landscape.
