Create free account[Music] okay so it's Pocket Gamer we're in La for E3 day before E3 directly out in the Hollywood Hills in the cool Rockstar house for the Swedish Affairs event and we're with a a top Swedish Rockstar game Guru Tommy Palm from King got some big news Tommy tell us tell us about it yeah so we are just announcing that we are releasing uh one of our top 10 Facebook games Pet Rescue Saga for mobile this week on Thursday uh that's your third mobile game I think yes that's that's correct so so what are we expecting for this you You' got two top grossing games at the moment are we expecting the same performance what kind of audience is going to go for a pet rescue game yeah so I think that this is a highly anticipated anticipated game we now have uh 5.7 daily million active users on on Facebook for Pet Rescue Saga and it's it has a different core mechanics than than
Candy Crush for instance so I think it will uh resue very well with the people who already love uh Candy Crush Saga what's what's the cool mechanic so in this game uh it's what we call a clicker so you will have to uh find big areas of the same color and and just press them so it's really well fitted for a mobile game you can play it with one hand and you can turn it around just like you could with with uh Candy Crush so uh I've been playing the game myself a lot and it's a lot of fun okay so this is your third mobile game been released you worried about kind of uh people stopping playing one game and playing Another Kind of cannibalization of your audience uh well we already have a lot of experience about this since we have the game on Facebook and it's been live there ever since October 2012 so uh no we don't we're not concerned about that very much it it works really well people are playing one game and then they get
kind of run out of life for instance they they go over to that game and so it just gives them another game of yours to play yeah let time to that's time to do their live living your gam I I see I see the evil plan so um why is it taking I mean not so long but you said the Facebook game came out in October so you've kind of taken your time to get it to to mobile what's the process how how do how does that transition happen well we uh we always want to make sure we we rewrite the games entirely from beginning and we want to make sure that it really feels uh it's a super good game the high quality that we're um wanting to be known for so it record or CEO always say like let it take it time until it's ready and and then we'll release it I guess it's appropriate the Swedish Affairs event it's developed from the first game from the MMO Studio as well yeah it's uh this is uh their first title and it's it's been very successful to them to get a really good team together so when's it
coming out reminder againin on Thursday uh this week so what devices uh it'll be for for IOS and Android and both smartphones and tablets we'll be looking next month to see how how it's top gring we'll uh we'll make sure we we're cracking it thanks your time Tommy thank you very [Music] much
King is expanding its mobile portfolio with the launch of Pet Rescue Saga, a title previously established on Facebook since October 2012. This release marks the company’s third mobile entry, following the success of its existing top-grossing titles. The game utilizes a clicker mechanic that allows players to clear large color-matched areas with a single touch, a design choice specifically optimized for one-handed mobile play. With 5.7 million daily active users already engaging with the title on social platforms, the company anticipates strong performance and high resonance among its existing player base.
The development strategy prioritizes quality over speed, involving a complete rewrite of the game code to ensure the mobile experience meets high performance standards. Rather than fearing audience cannibalization, the company views its portfolio as a complementary ecosystem. Players often transition between titles when they exhaust their lives in one game, effectively increasing total engagement time within the company’s broader library. This cross-pollination strategy is supported by data from the Facebook version, which demonstrates that users naturally rotate between different games.
The mobile version is scheduled for a simultaneous release on iOS and Android for both smartphones and tablets. The project represents a significant milestone for the development team, serving as the first mobile title produced by the studio. By maintaining a deliberate development cycle, the company aims to uphold its reputation for high-quality mobile gaming experiences while scaling its reach across major mobile operating systems.
