Mobile studios and consumer apps secured $398 million in user acquisition financing out of $652 million raised across UA and early-stage investment.
In the first three quarters of 2026, mobile game studios and consumer apps secured $398 million in user acquisition (UA) financing, which accounted for 61% of the $652 million raised across UA and early-stage investment combined. That headline share drops to roughly 39.5% once 11 PvX Partners deals worth $232 million, which lack named studios, are excluded. Early-stage investment, by contrast, continues to decline: $254 million was raised in Q1–Q3 2026, down from $350 million in the same period of 2025, with Q2 2026 recording the lowest total at $44 million. UA deal activity reached 10 announced transactions worth $108 million in Q3 2026, a count matched only by Q3 2025.
The market is concentrated among a few providers. Over the 12 months through late October, PvX Partners closed 18 UA deals worth $313.5 million, followed by LEUS and Metica. The financing mechanisms vary: PvX Partners takes a revenue share of funded user cohorts up to an agreed return cap, while Plan A Games charges fixed interest on drawn amounts plus a success fee tied to a revenue target. General Catalyst, through its Customer Value Fund, provides capital behind PvX Partners and has backed SuperPlay's acquisition spending, which preceded Playtika's reported $700 million acquisition of that company. Israel-based vgames has deployed more than $350 million into UA and marketing financing and plans another $500 million over the following year.
The model is also spreading beyond games. An AI English-learning app secured a $15 million facility, and Braavo Capital reports more than $60 million committed to similar structures in 2026. Adjacent financing efforts include Griffin Gaming Partners' $100 million fund for indie games, launched in May 2026, and Denmu's $50 million fund, which finances specific titles at $1–5 million per check. GreaterThan Group, a holding company where studio leads hold equity, has raised $40 million with about $60 million more in commitments. The figures track committed facility amounts rather than capital actually drawn, so reported totals should be read as upper bounds on deployed funds.
