Only three new paid titles on Steam generated over $10 million in revenue in July. This is a decline compared to June, which saw six titles reach this milestone.
The gaming industry experienced a relatively quiet period on the Steam platform during July 2025, characterized by a decrease in the number of high-performing blockbuster releases compared to the previous month. While six new titles surpassed the $10 million revenue threshold in June, only three games achieved this milestone in July. This analysis, based on data compiled by GameDiscoverCo, focuses exclusively on paid titles and excludes free-to-play games.
The top-grossing release for the month was the Chinese title Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, which generated an estimated $19.1 million in revenue. It was followed by Grounded 2, which earned $15.6 million, and Killing Floor 3, which brought in $10.6 million. Despite leading in revenue, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers did not secure the top spot for unit sales. That distinction belonged to the cooperative action game Mage Arena, which sold over 719,000 copies, significantly outpacing the 524,900 units sold by Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
The broader top ten lists for July reveal a diverse range of performance metrics across the industry. While revenue leaders were dominated by high-value titles, the volume of copies sold highlighted the success of unique gameplay experiences, such as the microphone-integrated mechanics found in Mage Arena. Other notable performers included the Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition, Wildgate, and The King Is Watching. These findings underscore a market where, despite a lower frequency of massive commercial hits, specific titles continue to capture significant consumer interest through both premium pricing and high-volume sales.
