Hamburg-based Overhype Studios Release MENACE in Early Access

Overhype Studios, an independent game developer based in Hamburg, Germany, officially launched its latest title, MENACE, into Early Access on February 5, 2026. Published by Hooded Horse, the game represents a strategic expansion of the studio’s portfolio, moving from the low-fantasy setting of their previous success, BATTLE BROTHERS, into a sci-fi environment. The studio, which has been active since 2015, continues to focus on its core competency of developing turn-based tactical role-playing games.

MENACE challenges players to command a diverse force of marines, mercenaries, and criminals within a lawless, isolated star system. The gameplay emphasizes tactical decision-making, requiring users to manage infantry squads, tanks, and walking robots while navigating complex political dynamics involving pirate factions, corporations, and fragmented planetary governments.
