Gen.G Esports has entered into a partnership with The Scholars, a newly established awards program dedicated to the collegiate gaming industry. As part of this collaboration, Gen.G will serve as the presenting partner for the Global Impact Award during the inaugural ceremony held at the Resorts World Las Vegas on November 27–28, 2023. While the specific financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the partnership includes brand visibility at the event venue and integration into marketing materials, alongside participation in industry panels focused on the educational value of esports.
This initiative aligns with Gen.G’s long-standing strategic focus on academic and scholastic esports in North America and South Korea. The organization has previously demonstrated its commitment to this sector through various high-profile initiatives, including a 10-year, $1 million investment via the Gen.G Foundation to support future industry leaders, as well as collaborations with the Black Collegiate Gaming Association and the University of Kentucky. Furthermore, Gen.G continues to expand its reach into K-12 education through its Generational Gaming Academy, which provides after-school programming in the Sacramento area.
The partnership coincides with the launch of The Scholars, which is set to host the PWR UP Las Vegas: Collegiate Gaming Conference alongside its awards ceremony. By aligning with this platform, Gen.G reinforces its position as a primary advocate for the integration of competitive gaming into educational frameworks, bridging the gap between professional esports organizations and academic institutions.
