The Dubai-based esports and gaming organization Galaxy Racer has formally launched GXR Records, an independent music label established in partnership with Empire. While the formal announcement occurred in August 2023, the label has been in development since March 2022. The initiative is led by CEO Elia Mssawir, who previously served as the label's head during its incubation period. Financial terms regarding the partnership between Galaxy Racer and Empire remain undisclosed.
The primary objective of GXR Records is to cultivate musical talent across West Asia and North Africa. The label intends to support this regional focus by organizing and promoting music festivals and tours for its artists. This expansion into the entertainment sector aligns with Galaxy Racer’s broader international operations, which span esports markets in India, North America, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
This development coincides with significant structural changes within the parent organization. Galaxy Racer is currently undergoing a merger with Riva Technology and Entertainment, a subsidiary of MSM Corporation International Limited. Upon the completion of this transaction, the combined entities are slated to rebrand as Celestial. This strategic move reflects the company's ongoing efforts to diversify its portfolio and consolidate its presence in the global gaming and entertainment landscape.
