Create free accounthello and welcome to pocket gamer top bizzy's youtube channel I'm John Jordan and this is our first time user experience playlist which will play games for the first time and see what the experience is like basically the tutorial so here we go we can see I've kind of stopped the the screen here so we're playing the new game from Gameloft which is Disney Magic Kingdom's and yeah you just missed the kind of intro movie not very much there but it kind of interesting interestingly given its free-to-play mobile game and it's Disney yeah we got we've got this little little welcome screen so kind of don't see this very often Bobbsey Disney very careful about their brand so that's into some of these how old am I well then if I'm gonna perjure myself on screen okay except that okay so it's going to do a
bit of this stuff ok okay so just stop it there was going through the google play services login stuff but it's got interesting so we've got this week Neil let let you use my location for specific exclusives let's climb with that so okay there is little Mickey very excited okay the villains curse so yeah you missed the it in the entry kind of thing that there was a lovely kingdom and then the evil malevolence cursed it so our job is obviously to find some answers try not to panic okay so the interesting move
straight into come of this mission structure Mickey Mouse level one there's a three stars as a 20 flasks of something and there's an uncommon thing he wants it so it's kind of show him I suppose that's kind of game we're not in control this at all he's doing is he's kind of comic Mickey Mouse I'm lost kind of thing and gets happen to me came out oh that was it that was the mission ok interesting mentioning gems overcome seeing I guess kind of warning again I'm she was going to come up about paying things like gems can be purchased for real money can also exchange the store I'm sure Disney which has come up with a few um had some problems in the past with the free-to-play certainly in where's my water too we had to change the change the game place after they're very nervous about school stuff it is need the money they going to make from this free play game is not much compared to much they make from there general brand and their and their disney parks so so love tapping with Mickey
okay take your magic low search so you know exist very kind of miam kind of controlling what we're doing we're not using kind of anything that isn't being told on us to do part of the news we played by by a younger audience am I supposed to be doing this as well now it goes i believe that there's very simple kind of tasks not really any gameplay yet making some they're just find it obvious it's going to be very character-based so what okay we're cool right all right calm down so they've got this is magic and the stars take it from a book these are ever look welcome up
our cases where we have the characters going to be collecting some characters as a few there please get all goofy like and goofy from cupid be the first got fried cheese when you hello goofy good see Google by my house a year okay and this phone goofy others rewards okay good okay maybe we got reward jolly good click the token so that funny thing is the tokens tokens welcome and level up characters and that's kind of interesting obvious a big RPG thing leveling up characters you don't expect to be something you have to level up goofy goofy just goofy zhilie not in the fridge Penrod send Mickey to welcome goofy Oh gave a celebration that
one it didn't then roughly very nice have to say yes they've done it now cuz a straight to her feet in no time he was gonna have these do a high five picking in there now clues cinema click the clues so I guess with different characters will be different things because gonna look for the gate and maybe we gonna do for you gonna be up to you it's the gate has a thing there okay oh no not the black crowes looking a little very happy about that Z we're gonna put that past away and the Wizards gonna go okay all right that's not such
as a high five thing is actually quite die sets a little kids loved in my files so we can come see this is almost like a very lightweight sort of mission structure which means AES reporting outside mini I'm not making of me so let's go more magic with Drake cuz it's not passageway don't tap tap tap so we've unlocked that you can see that evil magic over the whole kingdom not too shabby cuz can take every other man okay I'll see let's
not bring this visit by five but they're gonna done it blended oh crap I got stopped reward enough give the curse on them all going swimming the timing gate there so we're going to see that's me interesting that may be happening later on okay she's not we're happy she dope ghostbusters no he's not Ghostbuster yep building things ok so now going to the shop going to build the farmers overseeing use of resources prefer the practical tech building store ok also we
can go in and movie I want to be timed wheat and as well Apple Gabe so this is very much the build part of these kind of leaf a mobile games I guess we're not going to have any battling but I'm building is it well understood or a time dated bill okay so we've got the evil magic and then we've got p-please selfish thing so he's not going to be very helpful ash and Link okay well that's probably enough for the time being anyway so that's kind of them that's the new game from Gameloft these need magic kingdom's pretty nice actually I have to say I mean this was a game love game it sounds I can offer them to say up again else is not done free play games particularly well although you know under says mobile free
to play and understands kind of graphics and stuff very well but this is obviously that time with Disney is pretty important dizzy it's a big license and I'm totally had a lot of help from Disney to kind of get this looking the way that Disney want as well is that won't wear himself so um but yeah I think for first-time user experience this is pretty smooth obviously it has to be pretty smoothly it's a young audience base and it can't oversell the selling side of it they'll be interesting to see as we play kind of further into the game how how that's balusters ray I'll do free-to-play games are have to be kind of interface a little bit to get anyone to spend any money and it's very dangerous obviously when you have children and children aren't just small children you know anyone under 16 now that there's a lot of regulation in the US and EU about what you can do selling digital goods to children how you with their privacy and their beta so anyway that was off first time user experience thanks watching duplicate to subscribe to our YouTube channel so we
do lock this free-to-play mobile game analysis we play them the tutorial but the basic experience and the games are out and then if we pay them more we go into our different kind of modes on monetize a mobile app monetization and other things as well so if you subscribe group mr. thing and hopefully you'll find some mobile games that you wouldn't otherwise have seen and that you will enjoy so yeah thanks watching see you guys soon
Disney Magic Kingdoms, a free-to-play mobile theme park simulation developed by Gameloft, utilizes a highly guided first-time user experience (FTUE) designed to accommodate a younger audience while maintaining strict brand standards. The game centers on a narrative premise where a villain’s curse has overtaken a magical kingdom, requiring players to clear obstacles, unlock characters, and rebuild the park through a series of structured, low-complexity tasks.
The gameplay loop relies on familiar mobile simulation mechanics, including resource collection, character leveling, and time-gated building construction. Players manage currencies such as magic and gems, with the latter serving as the primary premium resource. The tutorial emphasizes character-based progression, where specific tasks—such as having Mickey Mouse welcome Goofy—are used to introduce players to token collection and quest management. The interface is intentionally simplified, providing constant guidance to ensure accessibility for children, which reflects Disney’s cautious approach to mobile monetization and user privacy.
From an industry perspective, the title highlights the challenges of balancing free-to-play monetization with the regulatory requirements surrounding digital goods sold to minors in the US and EU. Because Disney prioritizes brand integrity over aggressive revenue generation, the game avoids intrusive sales tactics during the initial experience. The collaboration between Gameloft and Disney results in a polished, visually consistent product that prioritizes smooth onboarding over complex strategic depth. Ultimately, the game serves as a case study in how major intellectual property holders adapt traditional simulation mechanics to meet the safety and usability standards required for a broad, family-oriented demographic.
