The Esports Advocate
The ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) has entered into a strategic partnership with the International Games and Esports Tribunal (IGET) through a signed Memorandum of Understanding. Formalized in August 2025 at the New Global Sports Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the agreement aims to standardize and improve dispute resolution processes across EFG’s global portfolio of owned and operated esports competitions.
The core objective of this collaboration is the integration of the IGET Model Clauses into EFG’s tournament operations. These clauses provide a framework for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services, which are designed to address a variety of industry-specific conflicts. These include integrity-related matters such as match-fixing, gambling violations, and anti-doping, as well as complex contractual and intellectual property disputes involving various stakeholders.
IGET, an entity established by the Esports Integrity Commission in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization Arbitration and Mediation Center, serves as the primary provider for these specialized services. By adopting these protocols, EFG seeks to enhance fairness and efficiency in its competitive ecosystem. While the partnership represents a significant operational shift for EFG—a subsidiary of the Saudi-backed Savvy Games Group—the specific financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
