The Game Post
The game's monthly mobile revenue fell by 65% compared to the previous month, despite its official launch in mainland China.
Destiny Rising, a mobile looter-shooter spin-off developed by NetEase in partnership with Bungie, experienced a significant decline in financial performance during October 2025. Following a period of strong post-launch growth, the title saw its monthly mobile revenue fall by 65% compared to the previous month. This downturn occurred despite the game’s official launch in the mainland China market on October 16, 2025.
Market data aggregated from Sensor Tower indicates that the game generated approximately $3.86 million in mobile revenue during October, a sharp decrease from the $11.13 million recorded in September. New user acquisition also slowed considerably, with downloads dropping by 67% to 602,000 for the month. Since its global debut on August 28, 2025, the title has accumulated roughly $17 million in total revenue across 3.1 million downloads.
The October revenue breakdown shows that global regions outside of China contributed approximately $3 million, while the mainland China market generated roughly $825,000 in its first two weeks of availability. While the game initially received praise from the core community for incorporating features frequently requested by players of the main Destiny franchise, the latest figures suggest a cooling of early momentum. These estimates reflect market-based analysis rather than official financial disclosures from NetEase, as the developer prepares for upcoming seasonal content updates.
