The team has officially rebranded as the Riyadh Falcons. This move integrates a Saudi-based team into the league.
The Call of Duty League (CDL) franchise formerly known as the Vegas Falcons has officially relocated to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and rebranded as the Riyadh Falcons. This transition follows the acquisition of the franchise slot by the Saudi Arabian organization Team Falcons, which occurred in late 2024 prior to the 2025 season. The move marks a significant shift for the league, as it integrates a Saudi-based team into a competition that has historically been centered in North America.
In conjunction with the relocation, the organization has signed professional player McArthur “Cellium” Jovel, a 2021 Call of Duty World Champion who previously competed for Atlanta FaZe. The relocation required approval from Activision Blizzard, the league’s operator, signaling a continued alignment between the CDL and Saudi Arabian government-funded esports initiatives. This partnership is consistent with the league's recent involvement in hosting major Call of Duty and Warzone competitions during the Esports World Cup held in Riyadh.
The franchise has undergone multiple geographic shifts in recent years, moving from Paris to Las Vegas in 2022 before its current transition to Riyadh. This latest development underscores the growing influence of Saudi Arabian investment within the professional Call of Duty ecosystem and reflects the league's willingness to expand its global footprint beyond its traditional North American base.
