Amazon Veteran Joins GGTech Entertainment

GGTech Entertainment has appointed Eduardo García Riaño as its new chief product officer to spearhead the company’s global expansion efforts. García Riaño brings extensive industry experience to the role, having spent over eight years at Amazon in Madrid, where he held leadership positions including global head of sponsorships in esports and gaming, as well as head of EU retail gaming and esports. His background also includes professional experience in the aerospace sector.

This leadership change follows significant momentum for the Spain-based organization. In June 2023, GGTech secured a $12.4 million USD investment from Glisco Partners and Heart Beat to support its growth initiatives. Shortly thereafter, the company solidified its position in the North American collegiate market by securing a three-year partnership with Riot Games. Under this agreement, GGTech serves as the primary operator for collegiate programs, including League of Legends and Valorant, effectively acting as a central hub for scholastic esports competition and club management.

The appointment reflects a strategic effort by GGTech to leverage high-level executive talent to capitalize on its recent capital infusion and expanded operational responsibilities. By integrating a veteran with deep expertise in global gaming sponsorships and retail, the company aims to strengthen its international footprint and operational capacity within the competitive collegiate esports landscape.
