Carranza will lead the company's expansion into the United States market. This strategic hire is part of GGTech's broader international growth efforts.
GGTech Entertainment, a Spain-based organization, has appointed Cristina Carranza as its new head of global sales. Carranza brings nearly a decade of experience from Amazon and its subsidiary, Twitch, where she held various account management and director-level roles. During her tenure at Twitch, she was instrumental in developing global gaming initiatives, including Amazon GAMERGY and Amazon University Esports.
This strategic hire is part of a broader effort by GGTech to accelerate its international expansion, with a specific focus on entering the United States market. Carranza will work alongside the company’s recently appointed chief product officer, Eduardo García, to bolster its global operations. This leadership transition follows a significant $12.4 million investment secured from Glisco Partners and Heart Beat, which was specifically earmarked to support the company’s growth objectives in North America.
The company’s expansion strategy is further supported by a major three-year partnership with Riot Games, established earlier in 2023. Under this agreement, GGTech serves as the primary operator for collegiate esports programs, including College League of Legends and College Valorant. By integrating experienced leadership and securing substantial capital and high-profile partnerships, the organization is positioning itself to capture a larger share of the North American collegiate esports sector.
