Alpine Sim Racing Partners With G2 Esports’ Sim Racing Division

Alpine Sim Racing and G2 Esports have entered a strategic partnership to consolidate their competitive sim racing operations. As part of this collaboration, the French sports car manufacturer’s esports division has officially rebranded from Alpine Esports to Alpine Sim Racing. While the financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the move signals a shift toward broader engagement across multiple racing simulation titles beyond the Formula 1 ecosystem.

The partnership leverages the established histories of both organizations within the sim racing sector. Alpine, which previously operated under the Renault brand and maintained a partnership with Team Vitality, established its own esports division in 2021. Similarly, G2 Esports has been active in the space since 2017, having previously managed sim racing teams for Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri. G2 remains a founding partner of the ESL R1 series, where it currently competes using Porsche 911 GT3 machinery following the conclusion of its previous partnership with BMW.

This alliance reflects a continued trend of motorsports brands seeking professional esports organizations to manage their digital racing presence. By joining forces, the entities aim to expand their footprint into major simulation platforms, including potential involvement in iRacing, rFactor 2, and the upcoming Assetto Corsa EVO. The collaboration underscores the ongoing professionalization of sim racing as a distinct segment within the broader esports industry, characterized by shifting manufacturer sponsorships and a move toward multi-title competitive strategies.
