This marks the seventh year of the professional esports competition. Eight competitors will vie for a share of the prize pool.
The French Tennis Federation has announced the details for the 2024 Roland-Garros eSeries by Renault, marking the seventh year of the professional esports competition. The tournament centers on the mobile tennis game Tennis Clash, developed by Wildlife Studios, which has accumulated 150 million downloads since its 2019 release. The series maintains its status as a unique international esports event dedicated exclusively to tennis.
The 2024 edition introduces significant commercial partnerships, with Renault serving as the new presenting partner and Mastercard joining as an official partner. The competition structure includes open qualifiers beginning in early March, leading to a final stage on May 25 at the Roland-Garros venue. Eight finalists will compete for a prize pool of approximately €5,000. The event features a diverse field, including defending champion William “Fozzy” Foster, former ATP professional Gilles Simon, and a wildcard entry awarded to the Handigamers association to promote inclusivity for disabled players. Finalists will receive professional support from the French esports organization GameWard.
The tournament demonstrates substantial global reach, with the French Tennis Federation reporting that the 2023 open qualifiers attracted over 400,000 participants from 217 territories. By leveraging a high-volume mobile platform and integrating professional tennis figures with grassroots accessibility, the series continues to bridge the gap between traditional tennis and the mobile esports sector.
