Martin cited personal family health issues as the reason for his amicable exit. He joined XSET in February 2022.
Rob Martin, Chief Experience Officer and co-owner of the Los Angeles-based gaming lifestyle company XSET, announced his departure from the organization in January 2023. Martin joined XSET in February 2022 following the company’s acquisition of Astoic Management, a Beverly Hills-based talent and marketing agency he co-founded in 2013. During his tenure, Martin leveraged his extensive experience in talent management and brand partnerships to support XSET’s growth and diversity initiatives.
The departure is characterized as amicable, with Martin citing family health issues as the primary reason for his exit. He expressed a desire to prioritize his family, noting that his colleagues were supportive of his decision to step away to avoid becoming a distraction to the company’s ongoing projects. XSET CEO Greg Selkoe confirmed the departure, stating that the company remains focused on its 2023 initiatives, including new hires and team expansions.
Martin’s exit follows a period of personnel turnover at XSET during the fourth quarter of 2022, which saw the departure of several other key figures, including former COO Marco Mereu and other staff members who subsequently launched a new esports organization, M80. Despite these changes, XSET continues to operate within the competitive gaming and lifestyle sector, maintaining its focus on brand activations and influencer partnerships.
