The Ukraine-based tournament organizer WePlay has officially suspended the WePlay Academy League, a prominent developmental circuit for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). The decision to halt the league, which served as a vital platform for emerging professional talent, was driven by the ongoing war in Ukraine. The organizer cited the inability to maintain the high operational standards established during the league's first six seasons and emphasized that the safety of staff and participants remains the primary concern.

This indefinite pause was reached through a consensus among all participating organizations. While the league successfully hosted multiple events and two LAN finals at the WePlay Esports Arena in Kyiv, the current geopolitical climate has rendered the continuation of the project unfeasible for the foreseeable future. The organization has clarified that this is not a permanent cancellation but rather a suspension that will remain in effect until the conclusion of the conflict.
