Hero Esports has officially integrated Teamfight Tactics into its Asian Champions League (ACL), a multi-title tournament series designed to serve as a regional pipeline for the Esports World Cup. The competition, which spans several titles including Dota 2, Valorant, and Street Fighter 6, will host its Teamfight Tactics segment between May 6 and May 18, 2025. A primary objective of this inclusion is to provide a qualifying path for the global event, with the top six teams from the ACL tournament securing spots at the Esports World Cup held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, later this summer.
The tournament structure for Teamfight Tactics consists of three distinct phases: regional qualifiers, an Asian challenge, and the grand finals. Registration for participants is scheduled to open on March 23 and conclude on March 31. The grand finals are set to take place in Shanghai on May 17 and 18, featuring a series of single-elimination matches to determine the final standings and the teams advancing to the international stage.
This development highlights the ongoing expansion of the ACL, which was originally announced in late 2024 under the organizer’s former brand name, VSPO. The initiative reflects a broader strategic alignment between Hero Esports and the Saudi Arabian government’s investment entities. Hero Esports previously secured a $265 million USD Series C investment from Savvy Games Group, a firm wholly owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, underscoring the deep financial and operational ties between the tournament organizer and the stakeholders behind the Esports World Cup.
