The Esports Advocate
There has been no formal confirmation of its ongoing business activities.
Galaxy Racer, a Dubai-based esports and gaming organization, officially closed its headquarters in the United Arab Emirates in March 2024. The closure raises significant questions regarding the company’s ongoing operational status, as there has been no formal confirmation of its current business activities. The situation is further complicated by the status of a long-planned merger with Riva Technology and Entertainment, which has seen no public updates since July 2023.
Financial instability appears to be a core issue, as the company reportedly maintains outstanding debts. Specifically, winners of the $100,000 HER Galaxy Apex Legends Open, which concluded in June 2023, remain unpaid. Additionally, the company allegedly owes approximately $40,000 to the Chicago-based tournament platform LeagueSpot for services rendered during that competition.
Leadership changes and uncertainty surrounding executive whereabouts have also surfaced. Founder and CEO Paul Roy is no longer in the United Arab Emirates, with reports suggesting he may have relocated to India. Furthermore, long-time Chief of Staff Walid Singer has departed the organization to pursue a new role at a Dubai-based educational firm. The combination of office closures, unpaid financial obligations, and executive turnover suggests a period of significant organizational decline for the entity.
