SlipShift, a Berlin-based developer traditionally focused on the hardcore browser gaming market, is actively diversifying its portfolio by expanding into the mobile sector. This strategic shift is driven by a desire to keep the development team engaged through creative experimentation and to explore new market segments. While the company built its reputation on complex browser-based titles, its initial mobile offerings prioritize casual gameplay mechanics to facilitate this transition.
The company’s current mobile output includes the puzzle game Chocolate Raiders, which features a lighthearted premise involving demons raiding kitchens for chocolate. Additionally, the studio is developing a prototype titled Eternal Well, an adventure-focused title centered on a boy navigating a mysterious, dimension-shifting environment. These projects represent a departure from the studio's established hardcore roots, serving as a testing ground for mobile-specific design principles and user engagement strategies.
Looking ahead, the studio aims to bridge the gap between its browser expertise and mobile capabilities. The company has already received interest from third-party partners seeking to leverage its technical background in browser-based development to create high-quality, cross-platform experiences for iOS devices. By integrating these skill sets, the studio intends to evolve its mobile strategy, moving beyond simple casual titles toward more sophisticated, platform-integrated gaming experiences. This dual approach allows the firm to maintain its core competencies while establishing a sustainable presence in the competitive mobile landscape.
