Create free account[Music] thank you [Music] I want to welcome on stage kavi varda talking about how AI is going to democratize game development so give a warm welcome hello hello hey guys my name is Corvette I'm founder and CEO of Rise angle and we are working on empowering everyone to create games so as rise angle we started as a game developer we have five games in the market over 400 000 installs um me being a Serial entrepreneur and
having been involved in different businesses in the past before I zangel I kind of see well the way I see Ai and generative AI these days is the most transformative and disruptive Force I have ever seen at least in my career and I've seen a few waves and then I see a lot of opportunities but also a lot of challenges ahead and that's kind of the subject of this talk but let me ask audience here a few questions for first um so who here right now uses chat GPD daily more than Google search me too actually so who has created full games using chat GPT so far like just a full game using chat chip and that's possible by the way so no one okay okay so who has gone into prompting for me Journey deeply not just using it okay so a lot of people it's interesting
and then who is a Roblox Creator here and that's kind of relevant I'm gonna explain more a little bit so all right it's a new one so let's get it started so where are we as an industry right now right so we we have we have had like over the past years and then there has been ups and downs but like in general a growing number of developers in in the world at the same time game development has become easier with more accessible game engines still very much time consuming and costly right so like it could go from a few months to like years for AAA games to could go to tens of millions of dollars right and then that has always been like for developers has always been a case to make game development easier and then this no code movement is like part of that another movement that has been happening in the world is this Creator economy booming so like now that in general more
and more people identify themselves as creators but also in gaming Roblox Minecraft and modding communities have been growing and then in what we think or I think is gonna happen and then especially uh it's gonna go on the storage because of generative AI is going to be we are going to go towards the board that gaming is going to be transformed from a consumer activity to a creative one so now a lot of people three billion plus people are Gamers and then like maybe 10 million 20 million people like as game creators that's gonna significantly change but uh before we go to like how generative AI uh is gonna change the game industry or different aspects of the game industry so what is generative AI so generative AI is just a subset of uh artificial intelligence that basically you train the models that eventually when they are trained they
are going to create similar content to what they have been trained on and um they are like different kind of models there are large language models uh they are text to image models text to 3D models that there are different teams are working on those and chat GPT just in general being a large language model it has been trained on the internet data before September 2021 and then uh it's a predictive uh algorithm in general so like uh like before being a predictive algorithm this being a tool on top of that which is basically it can predict the words that coming after a world based on the whole data whole internet data that has been traded on billions of data points so I'm gonna go a little bit to like how you could use generative AI in games this is a lot of different aspects of that and some of that are more exciting so I'm going to focus on more on those
because I have a lot of slides actually so storytelling so one this choose your adventure type games or other types of games they're going to become much more exciting with basically unlimited different tasks in the game and then basically trained based on uh how the player has been has played the game before and based on their personas so you could have dialogues and stories that they adapt every time based on the gameplay and you essentially have unlimited number of stores so that's basically the application is storytelling for game mechanics you can fully come up like with new genres of games uh you could use it also for expanding what is there you can even today use chat GP to create new puzzles I mean I don't know if anyone has has done that that's actually a pretty good way to create some puzzles for your puzzle games um and then you could have different progression systems uh as you go
uh conceptual art yeah there is a lot that can be done there to like take you faster to the style that you like and the kind of characters you want you want and the inspiration in general 3D modeling that's a very very interesting so aspect of it there are companies that they are working on text to 3D models and there are companies that they are working on image to 3D models both so both are gonna develop a lot at some point you're gonna be able to create 3D models based on your text or based on images you are going to be able to create full environments that they are completely like unique every time and you could actually for example have this High pulley 3D models and make them locally using generative AI uh textures is another one I really like the like one of the applications that's going to happen in the future which is dynamic textures so like let's say for example it's raining or like it's an
explosion and dynamically like the kick the textures in the game keep changing um animation is another one like so basically again like there are companies in each of these aspects like their companies they're working on each aspect right now as we speak and then like so you could have like for example a motion capture input and then you bring it like a generative AI like improves it for example or you could have like improving lip syncs other things uh sound effects is very very exciting also so I think like that that's gonna change especially for VR and then the ones that they are more immersive just imagine that your sounds sounds of the weapons and their interactions are gonna be actually dynamically created in the game based on their actions and based on when where we can see each other or like the environment is raining that depending on the train is going to be a different sound effect and also like the creatures other things
music also another application of generative AI music is going to be okay so like music that adapts to the mood of the gameplay so like basically like the player is playing and then the music keeps changing based on how uh the gameplay goes forward and eventually uh uh there are gonna be companies and us being one of them that they are going to create full games on top of General now it can be like done in a lot of different ways one of them is expanding one IP so like let's say you have an IP and then you make generative AI understand how this IP works and then what like the different elements of the IP and expand it with different levels and then words Etc and then by the way a lot of these things we are maybe like uh a couple of years away or some of that a few months away so like I mean these different items like but generally AI is going very very fast in general uh they
are gonna be like new types of game that you're going to be fully AI generated and there are going to be lots of it look so for example rise angle we are working on a generative AI tool to create full games based on right now based on a form and eventually based on uh like speech so my expectation is that in the next few years in the game industry we go from uh game development to game creation so basically more more and more like some aspects of the game development to be done by generative Ai and AI in general um and the creative part of the thing become more and more important and that part to grow and then this has already happened like for a long time in the game industry I mean like I've been in the game industry this is my second game company like 15 years ago and we pretty much had to like just create an engine like in the right now like the unity Etc
like they're much much simpler than it used to be so it's going to become much much simpler than the current time so uh okay so the different predictions for again like just in-game industry in general so I think that more and better tools are gonna come and then it's gonna be like a lot of these companies that gonna create tools for creating games on top of General DBI uh creating games is gonna be faster less expensive and that that's gonna be also like because of that it's going to be possible to create massive words and then longer gameplay times and there are going to be some games that completely created by that you're gonna enter the market I think the nature of game development jobs from game design testing everything is going to change and then I think the talent that is knowledgeable about generative AI will have an edge in every aspect of it
um I think with gaming becoming easier and faster so what's gonna happen is that basically these uh uh prototyping and the rapid development rapid testing of the game go to market Etc all of that is gonna uh it's gonna become even more important and new standards are gonna emerge and then no quote game development is gonna find more strengths even so games in the market so I mean we I think that the quality of the games across the board is going to improve also they are going to be much much more games in the market right with that also it's going to be like a lot of innovative ideas in the game industry allowing for new types of games and then a few use cases that I really like is that one of them is this adaptive game so like basically the game is actually adapting itself to your gameplay and your skills in the game for example I mean if you are playing the game and you are being
beaten by the game and you may give up that the game May adapt itself with by giving you new levels or new boards or new environments that they are easier to play so actually it makes makes you happy and keeps you playing so another one AO has always been as a player right so in soccer games you were playing with AI forever and then like a lot of these company different companies are using it but with AI becoming much much more smarter it can become your companion in the game and then basically it can play and talk to you all the time and be a friend or an enemy or anything like in the game and then these AI companions could be one big thing and then we essentially being able to program to create new words and new stories and new everything so we are gonna have some gaming IPS or franchises that they are basically they are gonna have gameplays forever so like unlimited gameplay and then that being said so you are going to switch from one IP to another so the IPS are gonna become even more sticky so you are going
to switch from one IP to another not when you are out of content out of new content but then you want to just like try a new different metal version also like as far as the game creation part I think that uh the game number of game creators is like is continue to grow uh we are gonna have more and more people that are gonna identify themselves as indie game developers and with much smaller teams being able to even create Triple A games because of all these features that are coming uh so the difference between what a small team can do and a big company can do is going to become less and less and that's actually a really good thing for Indie developers a more user generated content platforms are gonna come more modding is going to be like kind of stories in my opinion and um one thing that we think is going to happen is gonna I think that the game creation is going to go
mainstream so like basically the same way that people I mean just imagine the days before Instagram for example the way people used to like treat images right imagine if game creation at some point becomes so easy that anybody can do it so a lot of people may become game creators especially these three billion plus Gamers and that's a like very explosion in-game creation uh so and then so with gaming being able to be redefined in the coming years and then like a lot of Industries actually because of generally AI um I think that basically the market size is gonna grow a much more much faster and bigger than all of these predictions that you see in basically this is statistics and others I mean those are those haven't counted for re uh basically destruction of game industry as a whole and then what's gonna happen
uh and then I think that basically Discovery is going to become an even bigger issue with more games in the market but at the same time so so with that actually it becomes okay so your influence as game developer the virality of your games and also getting your community involved early these things are going to become much more important and how you do this prototyping and go to market becomes much more important than what it is even but at the same time I think that marketing is going to become even more expensive and then they basically a ratio of the marketing budget to development budget will increase because I mean development becomes less expensive and the marketing is going to become more expensive and the discovery becoming a problem I think new platforms are going to emerge for discovery of the games and uh and then also like we if more people become more interested in game creation and then become more game creators at the same time crowdfunding and like other investment and in general taking
games seriously as an investment vehicle is gonna increase so I think like it's gonna be more investment in the gaming space so what are kind of the opportunities I had today for everyone here and including us that you're working on these things um so it's uh we think that building generative AI tools is a really good space for game development uh VR building something that is much more complicated but really like when we were thinking of this thing some of these tools can be built in one day and can be really refined in one month so and they are still very good tools and that they don't exist so like there are lots of things that can be done in that space um with generative AI you could like really uh create games with deeper storylines uh building level bigger boards game boards and then basically and then with that and more content for your Gamers if you have an IP it can help you with the better monetization or
retention of your games uh with platforms such as the one that we are building is going to be more uh Revenue sharing opportunities for creators I'm going to explain a little bit of that in the next slide I think with this destruction happening in the next few years and everyone wants to learn basically educating others on how to use generative Ai and learning about that that becomes a big opportunity and then also like with gaming going mainstream even more and then game creation going mainstream even more this serious games space is going to be one of the biggest spaces to invest in like basically helping like companies educational institutes for stimulation training education other aspects and I think that new monetization opportunities from your existing IPS are gonna happen for example that's our platform we plan to do that and I'm
going to explain the next slide so this is kind of we see it right angle and region for the future at the end so we see you to be able to describe your game at some point of time uh and uh say okay so I won a match your game with 100 Levels I want it to like happen based on uh the story of me like getting lost in the jungle I want to put myself in the game and the name of the main character to be this and I want the photo of like images in the game or to be inspired from uh by my photo and then the sound of the narrator to be similar to mine and then basically uh you are gonna have your game so that that's pretty much the vision that we have uh we are working on a platform that in the next few months uh we are gonna launch it and then it has some of these these features to begin with some game types some um uh to start with and then
um so a few different things so uh I mean if you want to I mean we have opened our wait list for the platform we get daily uh subscribers to the playlist We are in the hundreds I think by the time that we launch the platform we're gonna be in thousands um check our website riseangle.com um and then uh if you are interested and then uh basically join the bait list if you are a developer that you want to learn once we launch the marketplace for Revenue sharing opportunity you have an IEP you want to make generate extra revenues from that definitely make sure you send us also like a separate message to our contact us form so we know you are interested and if you are an angel investor I created investor VC uh I would also love to talk to you um and that's about it any questions how many minutes questions yeah my microphone card we can have one question he won not a competition but he won
hello so from a perspective of a game artist like how far are we to basically just like automate all the game creation process with like tax bronze uh to AIS so like what I'm interested about is that like is there a like a game creation game artist process like 3D modeling or illustration that's not going to be like fully substituted with generative AI very soon okay very good question actually and that's something that we have caught a lot about because we have initially been game developers right so like and then that's close to our hearts and then what I think is that I think in the next few years that a transformation is gonna happen right and that's why my suggestion to any artist any developers anybody any Talent is that to be on top of what's going to happen and then start using the tools today any of generative AI tools
that you can find you can get your hands on just being on discount for different companies that they are getting into their space because with all of even these tools coming let's say if there are hundreds of tools or maybe like thousands of tools at some point who needs who basically understands those and which tool to use and how to use it still that's going to be a skill and then in my opinion it's going to become more of a creative job than a developing job so it's like more of the work is gonna go towards deeper thinking okay so what is the word we want to create what is it that people like how to test it in the market um how to have a different creative like aspect that is unique and created for people rather than because how to do this actually right so mostly like it becomes like more of a Visionary job in my opinion uh how long it takes I don't know it's going great I mean I haven't seen you know you guys know that chat
GPT has been the fastest growing app in history right and then every aspect of genitive AI goes with data speed pretty much from last week to this week there are new things every week and then how long it takes for actually customer adoption and people actually learning about these things and actually start using it that's very hard to predict but um my my definitely my recommendation is going to be start using as much as you may not know everybody else doesn't know so it's a new space so every anybody that can start learning today or building today they have an edge like in the next three months six months two years thank you covered thank you [Applause] [Music]

Generative AI represents a transformative shift in the game industry, moving development from a technical, labor-intensive process toward a more accessible, creative endeavor. By leveraging large language models and text-to-image or text-to-3D technologies, the industry is transitioning from a consumer-based model to one where the three billion global gamers can increasingly participate as creators. This democratization is expected to lower development costs and timelines, allowing smaller teams to produce high-quality, complex titles that were previously the exclusive domain of AAA studios.
The integration of generative AI impacts every facet of game production, including dynamic storytelling, procedural level design, adaptive music, and real-time sound effects. AI-driven systems can now create personalized gameplay experiences that adapt to a player’s skill level or persona, effectively extending the lifespan of intellectual properties indefinitely. Furthermore, the emergence of AI companions and NPCs promises to deepen player immersion. As development becomes faster and less expensive, the industry will likely see an explosion in the volume of games, shifting the primary challenge from production to discovery and marketing.
While these advancements offer significant opportunities for indie developers and creators, they also necessitate a change in professional skill sets. The role of the developer is evolving into that of a visionary or curator who orchestrates AI tools to execute creative concepts. Although concerns regarding the automation of artistic roles persist, the consensus is that proficiency with AI tools will provide a competitive edge. The industry is moving toward a future where game creation becomes as mainstream as content creation on social media platforms, ultimately expanding the total market size and fostering new investment opportunities in tools, platforms, and serious games for training and education.
