This figure represents a 25% increase over the previous year and surpassed the company's internal forecast of $1.62 billion.
Take-Two Interactive’s fiscal third quarter of 2026, ending December 31, 2025, demonstrated strong financial performance that surpassed initial company expectations. Net revenue reached $1.7 billion, representing a 25% increase over the previous year and exceeding the company's internal forecast of $1.62 billion. Despite this revenue growth, the company continued to operate at a net loss of $92.9 million, though this reflects a narrowing of losses compared to the $125.2 million deficit reported in the same period the prior year.
The revenue composition highlights a heavy reliance on recurrent consumer spending, which includes microtransactions, DLC, and in-game advertising. This segment grew by 20% and accounted for 77% of total revenue. By platform, mobile gaming emerged as the primary driver, contributing 51% of total revenue, followed by consoles at 38% and PC at 11%. Executives attributed the mobile segment's success to robust direct-to-consumer sales.
The company also provided updated lifetime sales figures for its major franchises, noting that Grand Theft Auto V has reached 225 million copies sold, while Red Dead Redemption 2 has hit 82 million. Additionally, the Borderlands series has surpassed 100 million copies, and NBA 2K26 has sold 8 million units. Looking ahead, Take-Two confirmed that the marketing campaign for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to commence in the summer of 2026. Regarding emerging technology, leadership dismissed current comparisons between generative AI tools like Project Genie and traditional game engines, characterizing such AI as being in the very early stages of development.
