Summary

Raidiant, an esports broadcast operator and division of New Meta Entertainment, has partnered with developer Psyonix to launch the Star Chasers Showdown, a competitive Rocket League tournament series. The primary objective of the event is to provide a platform for women and marginalized genders within the esports ecosystem, offering visibility to players, coaches, and on-air talent. By facilitating professional-grade production and competitive opportunities, the initiative seeks to foster inclusivity and support emerging talent in the North American and European regions.

The tournament is scheduled to take place over two weekends in October, featuring qualifiers on October 14–15 and a main event on October 28–29. The competition is structured to accommodate up to 32 teams with women-identifying rosters, while also including an amateur bracket and a dedicated free agent pool to encourage broader participation and team formation. The series offers a total prize pool of $30,000 USD, with grand finals for both the amateur and main brackets broadcast on Twitch.

This initiative aligns with Raidiant’s broader mission, established in 2022, to increase the frequency of inclusive esports competitions. By collaborating with major industry stakeholders such as Psyonix, Riot Games, and Activision Blizzard, the organization aims to professionalize and expand the presence of underrepresented groups in competitive gaming. The event serves as a strategic effort to highlight the dedication of these players while providing a world-class broadcast experience for the community.
