The PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) has finalized its group stage structure, organizing 24 international teams into three distinct groups—Red, Green, and Yellow—to compete for advancement in the upcoming tournament held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This event serves as a significant component of the broader Esports World Cup, highlighting the continued expansion of high-stakes mobile esports on a global stage.
The participating teams were selected and seeded into five pools based on their performance in regional leagues, including the PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL), Peacekeeper Elite League (PEL), PUBG Mobile Pro Series (PMPS), PUBG Mobile Rivals Cup (PMRC), and the PUBG Mobile Japan League (PMJL). Additionally, one team received an invitation based on their previous mid-season tournament performance. The group stage serves as a critical qualifier, where the top 12 teams will secure a direct path to the main tournament. The remaining 12 teams will enter a survival stage, where they will face four additional teams that placed fifth in their respective regional PMSL events for a final chance to qualify.
This tournament structure emphasizes a rigorous competitive path, ensuring that only the most consistent performers from diverse regional circuits reach the final rounds. By integrating various regional leagues into a single global event, the PMWC underscores the professionalization and interconnected nature of the current mobile esports ecosystem.
