The project is a partnership with Playfly Esports and MPG Impact Development.
Nerd Street Gamers has announced plans to develop a second collegiate-focused esports facility, known as a Localhost, at Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. This project, scheduled for completion in 2024, is being executed in partnership with Playfly Esports and MPG Impact Development. The initiative represents a continued expansion of Nerd Street’s collegiate footprint, following the launch of a similar facility at Rowan University in April 2023.
The planned venue will encompass 6,800 square feet and is designed to serve both the academic institution and the broader public. Key infrastructure features include 60 dedicated gaming stations, a specialized 5 vs. 5 competition stage, a café, team rooms, and administrative offices. The facility will be situated in the College Heights neighborhood at the intersection of 13th and Richmond Streets.
While the specific financial terms of the development remain undisclosed, the project aligns with broader efforts to integrate professional-grade esports infrastructure into higher education environments. The facility is intended to support collegiate esports activities while functioning as a public-facing venue when not in use by the college. This development highlights the ongoing trend of private-public partnerships aimed at fostering local and collegiate gaming ecosystems.
