The esports organization Gen.G has renewed its partnership with regional McDonald’s franchises, represented by Davis Elen Advertising, to facilitate the McDonald’s Gaming League for the 2023 season. Now in its third year, the initiative focuses on supporting McDonald’s employees and youth through competitive gaming. While financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the collaboration represents a continued commitment to fostering engagement within the McDonald’s workforce across several U.S. regions.
The 2023 league encompasses multiple geographic markets, including Southern California, the Southern Plains—covering Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas—the DMV area, and the Pacific Northwest. The season officially commenced on May 12, 2023, with playoffs scheduled for late June. Participants in each region select their preferred game titles, with winners advancing to a live-broadcast playoff event on Twitch, featuring local casters to provide commentary.
This partnership is part of a broader strategy by Gen.G to integrate esports into scholastic and youth-oriented environments. The organization maintains various initiatives in this space, including a long-term commitment to the Gen.G Foundation, collaborations with the University of Kentucky, and joint efforts with the Black Collegiate Gaming Association. By expanding prize packages for the 2023 McDonald’s Gaming League, the organizers aim to increase the value and appeal of the competition for participating employees.
