GGTech and MECENAS have announced plans to launch the international gaming and esports festival GAMERGY in the United States, with a debut event tentatively scheduled for March 21–24, 2024, in Miami, Florida. This expansion marks a strategic move for the festival, which is a joint venture between GGTech Entertainment and IFEMA, following its successful implementation of over 22 shows across Spain, Argentina, and Mexico.
The planned U.S. event is designed to occupy an expo space exceeding 11,000 square meters. The festival’s programming is expected to include a mix of professional and amateur esports tournaments, collegiate competitions, music performances, and influencer meet-and-greets. Additionally, the event will feature dedicated activation zones intended for brands to engage with the gaming community. Organizers emphasize that the platform is specifically tailored to reach younger, diverse audiences through a combination of large-scale media presence and in-person experiences.
This expansion follows significant growth for GGTech, which recently secured a $12.4 million investment from Glisco Partners and Heart Beat. Furthermore, the company has established a foothold in the North American collegiate esports sector by securing rights to operate competitions for major titles such as League of Legends and Valorant. By bringing GAMERGY to the U.S., the organizers aim to establish a permanent presence in the domestic market, leveraging the festival's established international model to capture the interest of the American gaming fandom.
