The match-3 RPG Empires & Puzzles, developed by the Finnish studio Small Giant Games, has achieved a significant financial milestone by surpassing $500 million in lifetime gross revenue. Since its acquisition of a majority stake in the developer in December 2018, Zynga has leveraged the title as its strongest-performing acquisition to date. The game has accumulated over 41 million lifetime downloads, resulting in an average revenue per download of slightly more than $12.
Financial performance is heavily skewed toward the Android platform, which accounts for $340 million, or 67 percent of total gross revenue, compared to $167 million from the App Store. Geographically, the United States represents the largest market for player spending, contributing $205 million, or 40 percent of the total, followed by Germany at $61 million and Russia at $58 million. While the United States is the primary revenue driver, Russia leads in total volume with 6.7 million downloads, followed closely by the United States with 6.1 million.
These findings are based on Store Intelligence estimates, which track global mobile application performance across major platforms. The data highlights the successful integration of Small Giant Games into the Zynga portfolio, positioning Empires & Puzzles ahead of other notable acquisitions such as Merge Dragons and CSR Racing 2 in terms of total lifetime player spending. The analysis underscores the game's broad international reach and its ability to monetize effectively across diverse global markets.
