Embracer Group
The company aims for full compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and European Sustainability Reporting Standard (ESRS) by FY 2025/26.
Embracer Group’s FY 2024/25 ESG Fact Sheet outlines the company’s strategic commitment to sustainability, focusing on the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors across its global operations. The organization, which encompasses 75 internal studios and over 7,500 employees across nearly 30 countries, aims to align its business practices with long-term value creation for stakeholders. A primary objective for the current fiscal year is preparing for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standard (ESRS), ensuring the company identifies and addresses reporting gaps ahead of full compliance in FY 2025/26.
The sustainability framework, titled Smarter Business, is categorized into three pillars: Great People, Solid Work, and Our Planet. Key performance indicators for FY 2023/24 reveal a female representation of 30% among employees and 26% among managers. The company maintains a strong focus on governance, having implemented 17 group-wide policies and 17 guidelines, including comprehensive AI and anti-corruption protocols. Environmental efforts are centered on a science-based target to reduce carbon emissions by 45% by 2030, using 2021 as a baseline. Currently, approximately 98% of the group’s emissions are categorized as Scope 3, stemming from purchased goods, services, and product usage.
Methodologically, the group utilizes data-driven decision-making, annual global employee surveys, and greenhouse gas inventories aligned with the GHG Protocol. While the company reported a decrease in its employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) to +17, attributed to recent restructuring and layoffs, it continues to prioritize diversity, digital well-being, and accessibility. Looking forward, the planned division of the group into three separate publicly listed entities will necessitate a realignment of these sustainability goals by the respective boards of each new company.
