This restructuring requires each new board to redefine and approve sustainability targets. These targets will be tailored to their specific operational contexts.
Future Focus. Sustainability targets will be redefined and approved by the boards of each new company.
Embracer Group’s sustainability framework, titled Smarter Business, outlines the organization’s commitment to integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles across its global operations. Spanning over 40 countries with 103 internal studios, the group focuses on three core pillars: Great People, Solid Work, and Our Planet. The primary objective is to manage risks and capitalize on opportunities by fostering inclusive workplaces, ensuring digital well-being and accessibility in gaming, and reducing the environmental footprint of the group’s extensive portfolio of over 900 franchises.
Key performance indicators for the 2023/24 fiscal year reveal a female representation of 30% among employees and 26% in management roles. While the group maintains a positive employee satisfaction score, internal restructuring and layoffs contributed to a decline in the eNPS compared to previous periods. Environmentally, the group is working toward a 45% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 2030, with 98% of total emissions currently categorized as Scope 3. Governance efforts have been bolstered by the launch of a Data Privacy Center and the implementation of 17 group-wide policies, including rigorous anti-corruption and whistleblowing protocols.
Methodologically, the group utilizes the Greenhouse Gas Protocol for emissions reporting and conducts annual global employee surveys to track engagement and satisfaction. Looking ahead, the organization is preparing for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) while navigating a planned corporate split into three standalone entities. This transition necessitates that future sustainability targets be redefined and approved by the boards of each respective new company, ensuring that ESG commitments remain aligned with the specific operational and geographical contexts of the emerging business units.
