The International Esports Federation (IESF) has officially confirmed the unanimous reappointment of Boban Totovski as General Secretary. Following a recent board meeting, Totovski has been granted a new three-year term to continue leading the organization’s strategic initiatives and administrative operations.
In conjunction with this leadership update, the IESF announced significant progress regarding the 2024 World Esports Championship, which is scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The organization reports that approximately 130 national federations are currently participating in the qualification process. This global competition is expected to feature around 609 teams competing across five distinct game titles, encompassing a variety of PC, mobile, and console platforms.
The reappointment and the scale of the upcoming championship reflect the IESF’s ongoing efforts to solidify its position within the global esports ecosystem. By maintaining leadership continuity and expanding its international footprint through widespread national qualifiers, the organization aims to foster greater unity and professional standards across its member nations. The 2024 event serves as a key milestone in the federation's broader mission to act as a central authority for competitive gaming on the world stage.
