Cities are invited to host major live arena events for titles such as Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and Fortnite.
BLAST has officially initiated its host destination selection process for major live arena events scheduled for 2027 and 2028. The tournament organizer is inviting cities and regions worldwide to submit proposals to host competitions across several prominent titles, including Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, Fortnite, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, and Brawl Stars. This expansion aligns with the organization's broader strategy to scale its live event footprint, with plans to produce 40 arena shows globally.
The initiative highlights the significant economic potential for host cities, emphasizing benefits to local tourism, commerce, and hospitality sectors. As a benchmark for this value, the organization points to the 2025 BLAST.tv Austin Major, which generated over $102 million in total economic impact and attracted attendees from all 50 U.S. states and 37 countries. These events are positioned not only as standalone esports spectacles but as catalysts for developing infrastructure that can support diverse large-scale gatherings, such as music concerts, trade shows, and traditional sporting events.
Interested municipalities must register their interest by February 12, 2026. Following the initial inquiry phase, the formal bid submission deadlines are March 16, 2026, for 2027 events and July 3, 2026, for 2028 events. This process follows a productive 2025 cycle, during which the organizer successfully executed 15 arena shows across 10 countries and four continents, resulting in over 190,000 tickets sold.
