The Esports Advocate
Zenni Optical has entered into a strategic partnership with the Evolution Championship Series (Evo), marking the first time the long-running fighting game tournament series has appointed an official eyewear partner. While the financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the collaboration integrates Zenni Optical into the global competitive gaming landscape, specifically targeting the fighting game community (FGC).
The partnership includes a branding presence at both Evo Japan and the flagship Evo 2024 event, which is scheduled for July 2024 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Beyond event-based branding, the two organizations plan to collaborate on educational content focused on eye health and the development of an exclusive, Evo-branded eyewear collection. This initiative reflects a broader trend of non-endemic brands seeking deeper integration into esports through health-conscious product offerings.
Evo, which was acquired in 2021 by a joint venture between Sony Interactive Entertainment and RTS, continues to serve as a premier global stage for major fighting game titles, including Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, and Mortal Kombat 1. By aligning with a high-profile tournament series, Zenni Optical aims to leverage the visibility of these international events to reach a dedicated audience of competitive gamers and spectators.
