The 2024 PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) represents the inaugural international competition of the 2024 season for the PUBG Mobile esports circuit. Organized by the Seoul-based developer and publisher Krafton, the tournament is scheduled to take place in São Paulo, Brazil, with a total prize pool of $500,000 USD. The selection of Brazil as the host site reflects the region's robust competitive ecosystem and the notable success of local teams, such as Alpha7 Esports, in previous global championships.
The tournament structure is designed as a multi-stage ecosystem intended to integrate open participation with established professional teams. The process begins with open online qualifiers held from March 4 to March 10, 2024. The top 32 teams from these qualifiers will advance to an offline qualifier in Brazil, scheduled for March 28 to March 30. Successful teams from this stage will then compete in the PMGO Prelims against invited teams from the official Partnership Program. Ultimately, eight teams will emerge from the prelims to join eight other squads in the in-person Main Event, which is set to occur from April 5 to April 7.
Registration for the competition and ticket sales for the final event are slated to begin on February 19, 2024. This event serves as a strategic effort by Krafton to capitalize on the vibrant esports culture in Brazil while maintaining a structured, high-stakes international tournament format for the 2024 season.
