The Esports Advocate
The Swiss esports organization Team BDS has announced a significant leadership transition and a comprehensive strategic overhaul. Alexandre Lopez, who previously served as the organization's head of strategy and director, has been appointed as the new chief executive officer. Lopez brings prior experience from his tenure as a manager and coach at Valencia CF Esports and has been a key figure within Team BDS since joining the company in 2020.
The organizational restructuring includes a large-scale rebranding effort intended to modernize the company's image and align its identity with a more human-centric, ambitious mission. As part of this expansion, Team BDS plans to establish a new non-profit division dedicated to supporting youth and hospitalized children. Additionally, the organization will relocate its primary operations to a new headquarters in Geneva, which is scheduled to open by the end of 2025.
Team BDS maintains a diverse competitive portfolio, including titles such as League of Legends, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, and Call of Duty: Warzone. The organization is currently a participant in the 2025 Esports World Cup Club Partner Program and remains a founding member of the French Union of Professional Esports Clubs. Supported by a roster of corporate sponsors including Logitech G, Pringles, and Bausch & Lomb, the organization is positioning these changes to foster growth beyond its traditional competitive gaming roots.
